A black stone building in Mecca that is shaped like a cube and that is the most sacred Muslim
Hegira
The flight of Muhammad from Mecca to Medina in 622 which marked the beginning of the Muslim era
Baghdad
Capital and largest city of Iraq
Shahadah
The first pillar of Islam is an affirmation of faith
Salat
The second pillar of Islam is prayer
Zakat
The fourth pillar of Islam is almsgiving as an act of worship
Hajj
The fifth pillar of Islam is a pilgrimage to Mecca during the month of Dhu al-Hijja
Jihad
A holy struggle or striving by a Muslim for a moral or spiritual or political goal
